Canon EOS 10D 6.3MP DSLR, 3 Canon lenses, EF 50mm f/1.4 Picture(s) and Description:

Canon

Thank you for considering this Canon 10D 6.3 Mega-Pixel Digital SLR Camera + Battery Grip, 3 lenses, .45x wide angle adapter, .22x fisheye adapter, 7 color-change and special effect filters, Sony slave flash, 4 brand new batteries, full documentation and more. Everything is exactly as pictured below.  I have not used this camera very much, and as such it looks almost brand new.  I have a newer Canon DSLR, use the same 3 lenses all of the time, and hardly ever get to use any of these great older lenses and filters.  Daily-grind portrait work leaves little time for fisheye fun and collectible-filter art!  I would keep it all, but I ended up with some extra lenses and need money for studio equipment.  I am obsessive about my photography equipment, and everything here has been meticulously, carefully, maintained and stored! *****PLEASE READ AND REVIEW CAREFULLY! ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING!!   There’s some very nice equipment here.  You’re sure to get a great deal considering the quality and quantity of equipment in this auction!  The filters are old-school film-quality optics, collected over a two year period from old camera shops.  Not to be compared with the “28 filters for 50 bucks” garbage available elsewhere! I have posted these pictures on Flickr at full quality. (click any picture to go to my Flickr page)  Nearly every picture (in this listing) which does not show the 10D WAS TAKEN WITH THE 10D CAMERA YOU ARE BIDDING ON!!  Honestly, I got a little artsy with some extra lighting an such.  Please notice: The pictures taken with the camera are better-looking than the pictures taken of the camera! I had fun taking pictures with the old 10D, and am very tempted to keep it as a backup!  Certain aspects of this classic camera can work better than my current 40D.  One notable example is the AF assist beam.  It fires flashes on the subject to help the lens focus in low light.  The newer camera does this too quickly, so usually it does not work!  The 10D was shooting .jpeg files that were less than 1MB each.  Especially when uploaded to the internet, the smaller files lose less of their quality.  If most of your photos end up on the internet, it’s better to take photos at a resolution closer to what people will see online. Includes: Canon 10D, has seen very light use, as evident in pictures.  Has taken about 4000 pictures. BG-ED3 battery grip: Like brand new and fully functional. Holds 2 batteries for long days or nights, also has redundant controls for vertical shooting. Four Compact Flash Memory Cards: SanDisk 16MB, SanDisk 128MB, SanDisk 256MB, 1.0 GB San Disk ULTRAII EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6 II USM zoom lens. ----This is a nice walking-around lens, which is sharp and contrasty enough to get every pixel working.  I use an EF 28mm prime so much that I would shoot through this lens at full-wide most of the time.  90mm is surprisingly far-reaching on this 1.6 crop factor camera. EF 35-80mm f/4-5.6 III zoom lens. This one looks old, is very clean, works well, and fits all filters and both adapters.  I love to use this one with the fisheye adapter to get wall-to-wall shots with blurry edges indoors, or to “zoom thru” the fisheye and precisely control the amount of distortion. There is a dark smudge on the front inner rim where the filter diameter is marked.  I think this is a little bit of felt-pen ink, from the store tag. The mark could probably be cleaned off with alcohol.  It does not affect performance, and I won’t put solvents on plastic! EF 50mm f/1.4 USM very fast prime lens. A SWEET PIECE OF GLASS, in perfect working condition, very little usage.  Takes brilliant pictures in low light, with beautiful soft bokeh.  Stopped down it gets incredibly sharp and the pictures are BEAUTIFUL.  I have two 50/1.4 lenses, because I’d read about the autofocus issues, and the first one (bought used) seemed to be buggy (its focusing ring is too tight and sticky) so I was sure I’d need a backup.  Neither one has ever failed! (go figure)  I’m selling the newer, nicer one, with the Canon lens hood to sweeten the deal.  They both hunt for focus sometimes, especially in low light, that’s what these lenses do!  The most important thing to keep this lens healthy is to keep the hood on it, and to turn the focus to infinity whenever you can.  At infinity, the lens is fully retracted, and a minor bump to the front won’t cause the elements to get damaged. There is a scratch on the outside of the lens hood, which is visible in one of the pictures, only because of the flash. NOTE: Most of the pictures here were taken with the other EF 50mm f/1.4 which is the lesser one that I am keeping.  I took a few shots with the one I am selling, and it is much smoother and seems a little quicker to focus. . .like brand new!  I use my lens in manual mode much of the time, in rough situations where it’s likely to get damaged.  I’d rather get more money for the pampered, hooded one with perfect autofocus. (Lucky you!) Opteka HIGH DEFINITION II .45x wide angle adapter/ MACRO lens. Opteka 0.22x SUPER WIDE FISHEYE LENS. 58MM-52MM adapter ring for mounting wide angle and fisheye lenses to 50mm and 28-90mm lenses. Lens hoods for all three lenses. (pictured) 52mm screw-in Filters: Vivitar VMC 85A USA (warming filter) Hoya 52mm G (X1) JAPAN green filter (for highest contrast black and white images) TIFFEN 52mm FL-D U.S.A. (magenta-corrects greenish fluorescent lighting) HCE 52mm 80B JAPAN (blue cooling filter) TIFFEN 4 POINT 2mm STAR 52mm JAPAN (2mm cross-hatch pattern for 4-point twinkles on highlights and edges) CROMOFILTER P1 52MM FRANCE (graduated warming filter, for warming up sky or ground in sunrise/sunset shots or for creating a nice fade across angled shots) PRINZ MIRAGE 52mm 3p JAPAN/504 (three prism “vertical mirage”  effect splits two halves off center image: ------------- Sony Slave Flash HVL-FSL1B ---Three modes, Low, med, high, can be handheld or placed at an angle off-camera for a bright flash which is triggered by the on camera flash of the 10D or any other flash it “sees”  Careful with the high setting.  This is a room-filling hard-shadow creating flash! SIX BP-511 Type Batteries!! 4 Brand new batteries, GT Max BP-511 2000mAh (+ONE USED 1500 mAh + ONE USED 1390mAh CANON=SIX) I have had Canon bateries, and cannot justify paying 5-7 times the price for less pictures per charge.  Using one of these batteries, Image Stabilizer (drains battery) and an external flash, I shot over 600 photographs in one weekend!  Using two batteries and the built-in flash I have routinely shot 300 pictures with lots of on-camera reviewing.  The way I look at it, if one in five of these goes bad within one year, I’m still at more than double the power of the Canons (with 2 in the grip), which only have a one year warranty anyway!!  To put it another way, I’d rater chuck a five dollar battery in the trash a couple times per year than EVER get burned on a $35 battery that’s only 1390mAh!  If you use Lithium-Ion batteries correctly, they last for about 300-400 charge cycles.  I tend not to run my batteries down to 40%, prefering to have a full charge, and that’s abuse that even the Canon’s can’t stand. UPDATE: I am including TWO MORE USED batteries,  Canon BP-511 battery that I found when I was getting all of the equipment together.  It works pretty good, but not as well as the cheapies.  Also a 1500 mAh battery that I used for about 50 shots on the 10D and didn't make a dent in the charge. I used it for about 100 (mostly flash) pictures in my 40D, and it was still not showing low charge.   Add $20 to your max bid, I guess! The original box for the 10D body is included, along with the original paper manual (price that!), battery charger, aftermarket USB cable, other manuals, and software CD.  If you don’t see anything here, drop me a line, and I’ll see if I can rustle it up! If you've read this far, I'd like to congratulate you on being a careful reader.  Ebay needs more people like you.  You may have noticed the lens cleaning kit, Screen cleaning pen, and lens cap keeper.  Those are included as well.  None of the lenses have any dust issues, fungus growth, or water damage.  Everything here is something I have used, and something that I would keep if I could.  There is also a 52mm petal-type hood that I bought in error that I will be shipping with everything else.  If the bidding goes past $700, I will probably throw in a couple more little surprises.  So please unpack as carefully as you shop, and check against the description. Everything will be very carfully packed in bubble-wrap and shredded cardboard.  If there are any problems upon receipt, PLEASE contact me before leaving negative feedback. Winning bidder must make paypal payment within 48 hours of auction end.  After receiving payment, I will ship within two business days. If you pay within 24 hours, I will try to match your lightning speed by shipping the same day or the next.  I'm willing to pay up to $35 for shipping, if UPS ground or USPS priority is more than that, it'll go Parcel Post, so allow time for the distance from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Please check the prices on all of these Items elsewhere, and come back quick to bid!  I spent well over $2000 collecting everything here, and I fully expect to see the snipers at $700-900+. (because these items could be resold for more) Happy Bidding!
